What we actually are

We are a contractor, not a staffing agency. Everyone who walks onto your site is our own employee, on our payroll, on the property services sector collective agreement. We do not use zero-hour arrangements and we do not subcontract cleaning labour to anyone. When something goes wrong on a night shift, the person you complain to is the person who can fix it.

About 60 % of turnover comes from fixed contracts with a written weekly schedule, 25 % from shutdown weeks and seasonal work, and the rest from one-off specialist orders. Nearly all of it is within forty minutes of the depot in Petikko, which is deliberate: a crew that spends an hour in a van is a crew you are paying to sit in traffic.

We grow slowly and on purpose. A machine is paid off before the next one is ordered, and a new person is hired when there is a full contract's worth of work, not a busy month's. It is an unexciting way to run a cleaning company, and it is why we still hold the contract we signed in 2013.

History

2011

Jani Ketola and Ari Nieminen register the company in Vantaa. Two vans, four people and three office cleaning contracts, all of them due to be finished by seven in the morning.

2013

First production hygiene contract, at a beverage bottling plant in Tuusula. Night work starts. That contract has run without a break ever since.

2015

Move to the current depot in Petikko: 620 m² with a machine workshop, a chemical store and a yard big enough to turn a tractor in.

2017

First shutdown-week contract, at an engineering plant in Hollola. Two ride-on scrubber-driers bought to go with it.

2018

Quality management system certified to ISO 9001. Written task lists replace the inherited habit of “the usual”.

2020

ISO 14001 certification. Chemical dosing moves from bottles to pumps and dispensers on every site. Headcount passes twenty.

2023

ISO 45001 certification. Two employees qualify as certified ventilation cleaners and duct work is added to the service list.

2026

Thirty-four employees, ninety-six sites under contract and two new ride-on machines at the depot.

How the week runs

Field work runs in three bands: 05.00–13.00, 13.00–21.00 and a night wash-down shift from 21.00 to 05.00. There is always fifteen minutes of overlap at each handover so that unfinished work is passed on by voice and not only on the work record. The office is open 07.00–15.30 on Monday to Thursday and 07.00–14.00 on Friday.

Crews stay on the same sites. Every contract has a named substitute who has already done the induction, so a sick day does not mean a stranger with a key. Supervisors visit each site at least monthly, unannounced, and work a shift alongside the crew at least twice a year.

Our own holidays are taken in June and August, because weeks 28 to 30 are when the engineering plants shut down and the heavy work happens. Two summer trainees join each year from the vocational colleges; four of our current employees started that way.
